More troubles for employees at North Metro Medical Center

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) -- Hospital employees at North Metro Medical Center can now breathe a sigh of relief. For a month, more than 250 workers were without medical insurance.

The hospital has had financial problems in the past, and this year they've had three CEOs.

Employees did not have insurance cover their claims last month because the hospital failed to pay the premiums.

Denise Oxley from the Arkansas Department of Labor explained that many employees called her department concerned. "They are concerned either about their wages, or deductions have been made from their paid-for insurance that has not been paid to the insurance company....people want to know basically what their rights are."

With child nearby, mom held at gunpoint at Jacksonville gas station

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) -- Three men approached a woman with a toddler outside a Jacksonville Citgo gas station on the 1500 block of S. First St., and held her at gunpoint around midnight on Thursday.

"Your life just flashes before your eyes, you don't know how to react," said Mycaila Lowery.

Surveillance video from the gas station shows one of the suspects approach Mycaila and hold a gun to her head, while two other suspects stand nearby.

Watch raw video here:

"All in all I have to say it was probably the scariest moment of my life, watching my wife held at gunpoint and knowing my daughter was right there next to her," said Edward Lowery.

The men took off after Edward, a Citgo employee, fired three shots into the air, and scared the suspects off.

Classmates set up GoFundMe for fallen airman

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - As thousands in Texas remember four airmen killed in Afghanistan last week, Arkansas Airmen work to honor them here as well.

Members of Class 13-07, including one stationed here at the Little Rock Air Force Base, are coming together to honor Captain Jonathan "JJ" Golden. Golden was one of 11 people killed last week when a C-130J crashed during takeoff from the Jalalabad Airfield in Afghanistan.

A crash involving a C-130J last Friday hit close to home for Lt. Jason Morris.

"It's just about taking care of each other," said Morris.

Morris, who works at the Little Rock Air Force Base, trained with Capt. Jonathan "JJ" Golden.

"Loved flying with him. His family was his biggest thing," said Morris.

Classmates, like Morris, remember Golden for his commitment to their class motto, "Challenge Accepted."
