Little Rock Restaurant Month: Cojita's Mexican Grill

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – All month long, we're celebrating Little Rock Restaurant Month and show casing the very best of Little Rock's cuisine.

Saturday morning, we interviewed Alejandro Alverez; Leo Alverez, Jr.; and Leonardo Alvarez, Sr.; of Cojita's Mexican Grill.

The restaurant is offering a free small cheese dip with the purchase of an entrée. Don't forget to ask your server about LRRM specials! Since Cojita's came onto our shows late in the month, they said they are offering their specials to anyone who comes in their restaurant next week and says they saw them on Channel 11.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - "I'm a single dad," Matt Mittlestat said. Bryant Steele added, "I've been divorced for a little over two years." "My ex-husband deployed and I really don't have a support system in Arkansas at all," Whitney Chase said. These are three different people with similar stories.

"A friend of mine told me I needed to join this singles group. I was like no, and everybody has the same thing, you tell them singles group and it's like oh no! I don't want to be in no singles group," Steele explained. But Steele soon discovered the group was unlike any group he's been a part of before. He said, "I still wasn't ready to date. I was mentally and emotionally damaged."

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV)- The US Department of Agriculture reports that Arkansas is the 6th fastest growing state in the country to increase its number of farmers markets. Within the last decade, the number of farmers markets in the state has tripled from 28 to 97.

Lance Cummings says he has seen markets expand across Little Rock. "We've got such a network of small growers that you can attribute that to the number of markets that are sprouting up." He says his family has been working at the Little Rock Farmer's market for 26 years now. "Being here for so long you build relationships and you have customers that come back to you specifically because they like the taste of what you're growing."
