New splash pad added to Riverfront Park

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – Just in time for warmer weather, a hot summer spot for families is opening in Little Rock. Today, kids enjoyed the new splash pad added to the Riverfront Park children's play area.

It's located behind the Marriot Hotel along the Arkansas River and is open to the public. Mayor Mark Stodola said the splash pad will add to downtown Little Rock's appeal.

"I continue to have people who come here and visit who have a chance to walk through this park and they totally blown away and amazed by not only the beauty of the park but all of the amenities," he said.

Two Little Rock businessmen, Wayne Woods and John Burkhalter, are funding the splash pad.
