MLB 'Pitch, Hit & Run' at Dupree Park

The Jacksonville Parks & Recreation Department will host a free Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition for area youth.

Date: Saturday, March 2, 2013

Time: 10:00 am Location: Dupree Park

PITCH, HIT, & RUN is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters the opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.

Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have a chance to advance through four levels of competition including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2013 MLBAll-Star Game.

Argenta's Annual Mardi Gras Party is Monday, Feb. 11, at Starving Artist Cafe. Tickets are $35 per person - includes incredible gumbo, jambalaya, soaked salad, and red beans and rice by Chef Jason Morell, plus all the beads and feather masks you envie!

Little Rock Air Force Base fitness center's hours of operation are changing to 24 hours a day to accommodate airmen that work on nightshifts.

JACKSONVILLE, Ark---Kids ages 11-15, are invited to join the last bash before school starts at the Splash Zone in Jacksonville. Concession will be available along with handicap access. The date, time, and  location are subject to change. Admission is $2 at the door, $1 for slides, and kids must be 48" or taller to ride the slides.
