Clinton Airport expects more passengers for holiday travel

LITTLE ROCK, ARK. (June 28, 2012) – The state’s largest airport will be busy during this July 4th Holiday Period.  Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport is expecting that more than 38,000 passengers will use the airport during a six day stretch beginning June 30 through July 5.

Airlines serving Clinton National Airport plan to handle 38,190 passengers during the holiday span.  That number is up 4.05% from the July 4 period last year when 36,705 passengers used the airport. Since January 1, passenger traffic at Clinton National remains 10 percent higher as compared to 2011.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Checkpoint opens at 4:30 each morning.  Airlines recommend that those traveling arrive 90 minutes before their domestic flight.

TSA reminds passengers to remember the 3-1-1 rule for carrying liquids, gels and aerosols through the checkpoint:

3 ounce bottles or less for all liquids, gels and aerosols placed in
1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag
1 bag per passenger placed separately in a security bin for screening.

Only one, quart plastic bag is allowed per person. The liquid restriction applies only to carry-on bags. Passengers may still pack larger quantities of liquids and gels in checked baggage. More information is available on the TSA website at www.tsa.gov.

Travellers are allowed one carry-on bag and one personal item such as a laptop, purse or backpack.  All other items must be checked baggage.
