Bridge lighting maintenance will close lane on I-30 in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK (AHTD) – Bridge lighting maintenance will require lane closures on Interstate 30 in Little Rock, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews will perform maintenance work on navigational lights located on the I-30 Arkansas River bridge. This includes installation of new low energy and longer lasting LED lighting. Routine maintenance of the navigational lighting is required by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The lane closures will be Thursday, January 30th, weather permitting. The eastbound outside lane will be closed between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.  The westbound outside lane will be closed between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Traffic will be controlled using barrels, warning signs, and Arkansas Highway Police.

LITTLE ROCK (AHTD) – Improvements to Interstate 40 will require night lane closures in Faulkner and Pulaski Counties, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews are preparing to widen Interstate 40 between Palarm Creek, which is located near the Pulaski/Faulkner County line and Highway 365, which is located near the Morgan/Maumelle exit. This work will require the installation of a temporary concrete wall. During the installation time, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

LITTLE ROCK (AHTD) – Research work on Interstate 40 will require a lane closure near North Little Rock, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews will perform drilling operations to test the soil beneath the driving surface.

It will require closing the Interstate 40 westbound inside lane between mile markers 145 and 146. That’s located just west of the Interstate 40/430 interchange.  The lane closure will be Friday, January 24th, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using barrels and warning signs.

The work is being conducted in preparation for widening Interstate 40 to six lanes between Highway 365 and Interstate 430. This includes modifying the Interstate 430 interchange. This work is scheduled for bid later this year.

LITTLE ROCK (AHTD) - The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department is now accepting applications for the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The Section 5310 – Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program is federally funded. It provides capital assistance in the form of discounted vehicles to agencies providing transportation services to seniors and individuals with disabilities.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AHTD) – Improvements to the Interstate 30/440 Interchange will require a lane closure in Little Rock, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Crews will be improving the driving surface on the I-30 eastbound ramp extending to Interstate 440. The work will require closing the ramp’s eastbound outside lane on Tuesday, December 3rd and Wednesday, December 4th between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AHTD) - The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) reminds drivers to visit IDriveArkansas.com before hitting the road this Thanksgiving holiday.

Extensive highway improvements are underway in the state. With those improvements come work zones. To aid in your holiday travel, AHTD has been working hard to open as many lanes as possible.

Still, with many ongoing improvements, travelers will likely face work zones and possible delays due to an increased volume of traffic.
